“Panettone con amore” donates COVID-19 protection devices to the Serafico di Assisi.

A very satisfactory outcome for the solidarity initiative promoted by Molino sul Clitunno, which has allocated part of the proceeds from the sale of handmade panettone cakes for the purchase of masks, overalls, scrubs, socks and headphones for the young guests of the Serafico Institute.
ASSISI, January 2020 – A red heart embracing a panettone. This was the symbol of the solidarity initiative promoted by Molino sul Clitunno for Christmas 2020, which involved numerous pastry chefs from central and southern Italy, honored to be able to donate, through their artisan panettone, an extra support to the Istituto Serafico of Assisi, an Italian excellence and reference point for the reception, care, rehabilitation and social-health assistance of children with multiple disabilities.
“We are very satisfied with the result obtained and the concrete help we can give to the Seraphic Institute of Assisi – says Anna Laura Marani, External Relations Manager of Molino sul Clitunno – we know that in order to deal with the Covid19 emergency in total safety and to safeguard the health of its young guests and all the staff, the Seraphic Institute of Assisi needs daily PPE devices such as masks, overalls, gowns, and footwear, incurring significant costs. For this reason it was decided to donate part of the proceeds from the sale of artisan panettone, made by pastry chefs in central and southern Italy with our flours, to the purchase of these devices.
Stafano Malfatti, director of communications at the Seraphic Institute, reports that for 2021, an expenditure of approximately 70,000 euros has been budgeted for the purchase of PPE devices and that the cost of each piece of equipment is around 16 euros per person. Important figures that have induced Molino sul Clitunno to help the Serafico Institute in the important task and social role of safeguarding, protecting and rehabilitating young guests with multiple disabilities.
The solidarity initiative is part of the project to support the virtuous circle of Umbrian excellence that Molino sul Clitunno has triggered and carries out with other players in the panorama of food and beverage and agri-food sector, to give voice to the quality supply chains of the Umbria region.
