A load of solidarity for the Turin and Perugia doctors

The embrace that Umbria wanted to give to the doctors involved in the fight against COVID-19 started from Trevi.
An embrace that smells of wheat, symbol of life and rebirth, that the Molino sul Clitunno company wanted to symbolically send to the heroes of these days.
“When we heard about the Pizza Sospesa initiative, promoted in Turin by Carlo Ricatto and the non-profit organization Specchio dei Tempi, we did not hesitate a moment – says Anna Laura Marani, External Relations Manager of Molino sul Clitunno – and we decided to send our contribution by offering a supply of our flours to churn out pizza and other baked goods every night that the Turin volunteers distribute to these doctors in the trenches. It is a small gesture that we are sure will warm the hearts and spirits of people exhausted by incessant work shifts. We firmly believe in corporate social responsibility and we have always supported projects that can give a valid support to the local Umbrian territory. This time, unfortunately, the cause is worldwide but we had no doubt in supporting this solidarity initiative and we made our flours cross the borders of Umbria to help those who needed it most at that time”.
But Pizza Sospesa was not left alone and gradually, other important solidarity initiatives were also born in Umbria.
“Making a contribution to our territory is undoubtedly a great emotion for all of us,” continues Anna Laura Marani, “because we feel even more connected and synergistic with our region. So we were delighted to be able to donate, through the initiative promoted by Solidart and the chefs Ciccotti and Angelucci, flour from Molino sul Clitunno for the production of meals for the doctors of the Santa Maria della Misericordia hospital in Perugia. Today more than ever the value of flour has also taken on a symbolic declination. In this period of quarantine we have often found ourselves around a kitchen table kneading with the whole family and knowing that our flour has also been an element of union, of conviviality, giving a moment of serenity inside the houses, repays us for the many efforts we are facing in this difficult moment for our country”.
